Heal Your Soul! One Woman's Journey to Self-Care after a Breakup

It's been two weeks since my last relationship ended, and I have to say, I'm feeling pretty good. Don't get me wrong, the breakup was tough. We had been together for four years and I thought he was The One. But now that some time has passed, I can see that it was for the best. And part of the reason I'm feeling so good is because I've been taking care of myself. I'm finally putting myself first, and it feels amazing. If you're going through a tough break-up, or just need a little self-care, read on for some tips on how to heal your soul.

1. Get Yourself a Massage: When was the last time you treated yourself to a massage? If you can't remember, then it's been too long! Getting a massage is one of the best ways to relax and rejuvenate your body and mind. Trust me, your soul will thank you.

2. Take a Bath: There's nothing like a relaxing bath to help you clear your head and relax your body. Add some soothing aromatherapy or add a few drops of lavender oil to your bathtub for an extra calming effect.

3. Exercise: Exercise is great for both your body and mind. Not only does it release endorphins (aka happiness hormones), but it also helps to reduce stress and anxiety. And when you look good, you feel good! So put on your favourite workout clothes and get moving!

4. Connect with Nature: Spend some time outside in nature, and breathe in the fresh air. Studies have shown that being in nature can help reduce stress levels, improve moods, and boost energy levels. So go for a hike, sit by the ocean, or take a walk in the park. Your soul will thank you!

5. Spend Time with Friends & Family: Surround yourself with people who love and support you. Spending time with loved ones is a great way to relax and de-stress. They'll make you laugh when you need it most and be there to lend a shoulder to cry on when needed.

6. Do Something for You: Take some time for yourself every day to do something that makes YOU happy . This could be reading your favourite book, taking a yoga class , going for a walk , or anything else that brings joy into your life . We all need time to recharge our batteries , so make sure you schedule some “me” time into your day .

7. Be grateful : Each day , take some time to think about things you're grateful for in your life . Gratitude has been shown to improve moods , increase resilience , reduce stress , and promote overall well-being . So start each day by thinking about 3 things you're grateful for—you'll be surprised at how much better you feel !

8  Get enough sleep : When was the last time you had a good night's sleep ? Getting enough rest is crucial for both our physical and mental health . Lack of sleep can lead to increased stress levels , anxiety , irritability , and even depression . So make sure you're getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night !  (I know this one is easier said than done , but it's so important!)   These are just some of the many ways you can start taking care of yourself today . So what are you waiting for ? Your soul deserves it!
